Like-minded Deepens its Footprint in Emerging Overseas Markets: Energy Storage Projects Empower Energy Transition in Africa and Southeast Asia

Like-minded Deepens its Footprint in Emerging Overseas Markets: Energy Storage Projects Empower Energy Transition in Africa and Southeast Asia

Nov 18, 2025

In 2024, Like-minded addressed critical energy challenges in Africa and supported the low-carbon transition in Southeast Asia by launching two benchmark energy storage projects in Kenya and Vietnam. Through its modular technology and localized solutions, the company has established itself as a key supplier of sustainable energy for these emerging markets. In Kenya, as part of the V-LED low-carbon development program, Like-minded built off-grid energy storage clusters in Siaia and Kwale counties. The project deployed 100MWh of lithium iron phosphate storage modules, engineered for high-temperature environments (exceeding 35°C) and a cycle life of over 6,000 cycles. It now meets the basic electricity needs of 20 villages. By integrating with local photovoltaic plants, the system stores solar energy by day and supplies power at night, resolving electricity shortages in nomadic communities. The project already supports 12,000 households and contributes directly to Kenya's national goal of achieving 35% renewable energy by 2030.

In Vietnam, Like-minded launched an urban distributed energy storage project in Ho Chi Minh City. A 50MWh smart energy storage system was deployed to tackle grid fluctuations and facilitate renewable energy integration. The project features innovative AI dispatch technology, which matches photovoltaic output with residential electricity load in real time, increasing peak-shaving efficiency by 40%. It also incorporates blockchain for energy flow tracing, aligning with Vietnam's digital energy strategy. Once operational, the project is expected to cut carbon emissions by 8,000 tons annually, offering a replicable model for urban energy storage across Southeast Asia. Both projects follow a "technology adaptation + capacity building" dual-track approach. Beyond supplying core equipment, Like-minded has partnered with local institutions to deliver operational training, cultivating over 300 skilled technicians. A company representative announced that in 2025, Like-minded will further expand into the South African and Indonesian markets, focusing on commercial and industrial energy storage and microgrid development. This ongoing effort underscores the company's commitment to addressing the energy needs of emerging markets through continuous innovation.
